Another public holiday


Today I could see snow on the hills
nearby.Some marzipan sweets in the local cake place.

Oh that's so nice that the Spanish (or Basques? Where are you?) have the 6th December off. It's a big day in Germany, too, because St.Nikolaus is coming on a horse, and he brings sweets and nuts and oranges to children first thing in the morning. To some he brings bikes, but that's not really traditional. I miss finding a plate full of choccies outside my bedroom door on the 6th. Have you got an advent calendar?

This is in Asturias on the north coast of Spain. It is imbatween Santander and Santiago. I live by the Cathederal which has an epic nativity scene in the square, so im posting a few pictures until Christmas. Its like an advent calender for diets,without the chocolate treat. I cant talk, my friend just made us a chocolate cake made from courgettes and chunks of chocolate, coated in white chocolate, it was sensational.
